My Crayon Melt Art Story | Off By Heart Design

My Crayon Melt Art Story | Off By Heart Design

Hi, I’m Amanda, the maker behind Off By Heart Design. Before I worked in social media management, I was an account manager in the event rental industry. After long days of order entry and phone calls, I wanted a creative outlet—and something colourful for my plain walls.

How my crayon melt art began

I discovered crayon melt art online and loved the colourful designs. My first piece followed the familiar rainbow arrangement: crayons in a straight line, with melted wax flowing across the canvas.

Then I started wondering: why did the crayons have to stay in a straight line? And why stick to rainbow colours? Those questions led me to experiment with different arrangements and colour combinations, including pastels and pinks and blues.

Colour, texture, and original designs

My original pieces were made with Crayola crayons glued to canvas and melted into colourful abstract designs. A professional photographer later photographed my work, giving me a way to share those creations beyond the original canvases.
